El Salvador is one of the best place to practice surf.


With its beaches, which are among the favorite among a lot of surfers from around the world, from pioneers in the sport to new generations, some of its beaches are Punta Roca, El Sunzal, El Tunco or El Zonte.



















For about 30 years or more surfing in El Salvador has been practicing this water sport in the country, and not less the Salvadoran territory has a line of 321 kilometers of beaches, of which 63% are ideal for surfing, highlighting of course, certain beaches among others because of its spectacular waves. However the surf has not been exploited enough advertising to attract international tourists.

These are some of the most prefered beaches for surfing in our country:

Sunzal: One of the most popular beaches in the western area and is considered the best for surfing, besides surfing and snorkeling is also practiced. Sport fishing is also very popular on this beach. El Tunco: It is one of the favorite sites and Playa Sol Road. It presents very suitable for the development of surfing waves, which is very popular. PEACE ROUTE

Peace Route is made by the people of Perquin ,Arambala , Villa El Rosario , Joateca , Cacaopera and Corinth . Here , you can enjoy a natural paradise and learn the history and culture of our ancestors , their indigenous traditions , living nature , fresh air . It is a lovely place to discover him and to delve into an unforgettable adventure spot .

This route has been named this way for a period of tranquility enjoyed in the area, after 12 years of civil war ; as this area was one of the main scenes of great battles . The path of peace is located in the department of Morazán and includes a number of different peoples. Morazan department is located in the eastern part of El Salvador; his departmental head is San Francisco Gotera , located 167 kms from the city of San Salvador .

Nice drive from Sonsonate to Ahuachapán comprising 5 main destinations :Salcoatitán , Nahuizalco , Juayua, Apaneca and Ahuachapan .

ARCHAEOLOGICAL TOUR

El Salvador there are numerous archaeological sites that are part of the RutaMaya . The Maya ,Pipil and Lenca , civilizations formed their settlements in this land , where some of their ceremonial centers are still preserved such as :

ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE JOYA DE CEREN
Located in the department of La Libertad, Jewel Cerénunos 30 minutes from the capital , it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993. This site shows the daily life of its indigenous inhabitants , interrupted by the eruption of the volcano Loma Caldera in the year 600 AD approximately.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE SAN ANDRES
Away from Joya de Ceren , is this ceremonial archaeological site. San Andrés was the regional alderman ceremonial and administrative center between 600-900 D.C. There is an obraje indigo dating from the colonial era and was buried by the eruption of Volcano Playon in the year 1658 A.D. It has been a place of important findings , including a religious scepter made ​​in flint and skulls with dental inlays.

TAZUMAL
The first reference dates back to 1892 and was formally registradoTazumal in 1940. The occupation of Tazumal is believed began in 1200 B.C. Its structure is a little over 24 meters. high and comprises 12 steps or pallets . Within her tombs they were found with more than 116 vessels , jade jewelry , iron pyrite mirrors , artifacts ballgame and shaped ceramic lizard.







THE CULTURE OF EL SALVADOR 


The culture of El Salvador is a mixture of the Maya, Lenca, Nahua, Ulua, Spanish and other minority ethnic cultures.

Less than 1% of the population speaks Nahuatl. The Catholic religion played an important role in the culture of El Salvador. Articles of painting, ceramics and textiles are the main manual artistic expressions. Writers Francisco Gavidia (1863-1955), Alberto Masferrer, Salarrué, Claudia Lars, Alfredo Espino, Pedro Geoffroy Rivas and Manlio Argueta, poet Roque Dalton and are among the most important artists from El Salvador.

Dresses
In El Salvador there are different types of costumes, in which most are used in different festivities, although some people still use them. In the women's costume it is common to see elements like a scapular, a shawl, a cloth and different colored ornaments in footwear sandals are used. In the male costume is common to see a cotton suit, also in traditional festivals, used modern jeans with a cotton shirt, shoes in sandals or boots, and a hat. They really are rural in character, and have different variations depending on location.

In El Salvador the official language is Spanish. The speech can mix words of indigenous origin, causing what are the different idioms. A small amount of the population speaks pipil language, as in Izalco and other towns,  currently does not take the need for learn, or only remembered by older people. Among the pre-Columbian languages are chorotega, Cacaopera, Chorti language, language Xinca, Lenca, Pocomam language.

They are the popular dances that fulfill a social function, one of the most famous dances is the "Torito Pinto". are also "Carnival of San Miguel", "Adentro Cojutepeque," "Ahuachapan," "El Carbonero" ... They are the most popular. There are others such as "Las cortadoras", "Las floreras de El Boqueron" among others. These dances comprise much of Salvadoran culture. The raditional dresses are used in this kind of dances and can represent different historical events or rural activities, such as agriculture. They are danced by several couples. They may have different choreography depending on what is to be displayed, accompanied by traditional music. They are usually held at different times and in different places . The classification of these dances is indigenous and traditional.




Handicraft
In El Salvador you can find a huge variety of crafts of excellent quality made by residents, Such crafts can be made from a variety of materials such as iron, clay, wood carving and straw.
You can find all of this Handicraft at Panchimalco, Ilobasco, La Palma Chalatenango and Apaneca.

Typical Food

Salvadorian cuisine is a style of cooking derived from the nation of El Salvador.  
Many of the dishes are made with maize (corn).

El Salvador has different type of delicious typical food. The food most famous are:

Pupusas are the typical saucer most famous and consumed for Salvadorians and also they are known an international level.
A thick handmade corn flour or rice flour tortilla stuffed with cheesechicharrónrefried beans or loroco. There are also vegetarian options, often with ayote or garlic. Some adventurous restaurants even offer pupusas stuffed with shrimp or spinach which are served with salsa roja, a simple yet flavorful Salvadoran cooked tomato sauce, often served with curtido.
If you have never eaten pupusas, you don’t know what you are losing!!!!!  

Enchiladas
Salvadorian enchiladas are a typical dish or our country, which is extremely easy to prepare at home. These are small tortilla chips made from dough and annatto, a dye and natural flavoring, and optionally accompanied by other ingredients.
To prepare enchiladas, first thing done is the dough, although it can also be used for this purpose flour. Then you add a little to the mass achiote and stir until you have an orange color. The next step is to form smalles tortillas with the dough and fry in hot oil until browned.  You add mashed beans, tanning chopped cabbage, slices of cucumber, tomato and boiled egg. Finally, you add grated cheese.

Yuca frita
It is served with  (a pickled cabbage, onion and carrot topping) and chicharron with pepesca. The Yuca is sometimes served boiled instead of fried.



Torrejas
Salvadoran torrejas are a typical dish that cannot miss on Easter, but can be prepared at any time of year you want it to taste its excellent flavor. Note also that this dish is also prepared in other countries, in some places are known under the name of French toast, and others is also preparing a tradition at Christmas.



Elotes locos  are one of those things that can not miss at the fairs in the towns and cities that are celebrated in every place in our country in its festivities. Its exquisite taste and ingredients with which it is prepared give that unique touch that we all love.
The name comes from the mixture made from its ingredients without which would not have the same taste.





Pastelitos are one of the most typical dishes consumed in our country. They can be found in almost any town at a fairly affordable price, but can also be made at home quite easily and quickly, without spending much money.
First you need to prepare the dough, which is obtained from corn. Then the dough is flavored with a little achiote, which gives an orange color that characterizes them. If you wish, you can also add a pinch of baking soda, a pinch of salt and chicken broth.
For the filling, commonly prepared with ground beef or shredded chicken meat with vegetables or just vegetables.

Nuegados de Yuca. This delight is also a very popular dish in some tourist spots that are generally known as "living in towns" or tourist areas such as in Los Planes de Renderos.

They are made with yuca so they have a simple taste, but the special touch is provided by the honey sweet brown sugar with which they are accompanied.
